I believe Epstein received his light sentence because everyone was afraid he would start naming names. He also had some very high priced slimy lawyers.

His lawyers got the charges against assaulting most of the girls to save the "traumatized" girls testifying! And because the two dozen+ girls were paid for sex they were afraid to expose themselves as prostitutes.

In June 2008, after Epstein pleaded guilty to a single state charge of soliciting prostitution from girls as young as 14, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison. He served 13 months before being released. He was also allowed to leave each day to go to work.
