Paul, non-residents don't pay capital gains on stock earnings to your Uncle Sam. Any tax issues will be governed by Costa Rica law. Speaking of taxes, you better hope Marco doesn't forgive the debt you owe Netco for all the fraud and just cut you a nice 1099, which is perfectly allowable under US Tax law since forgiveness of debt constitutes income. Then you and Susan will have a nice tax lien and that house down in Delray Beach will never be able to be sold.
