The federal government has recently proposed setting a blood drug concentration limit of THC for an impaired driving summary offence between two and five nanograms (ng) per millilitre of blood, while above 5 ng would be either a summary or indictable offence.

As well, it is proposed that when THC and alcohol are combined, a limit of 2.5 ng of THC and 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood be set.
