Physicians need positive peer group opinion.

I've found some US physicians and at least one pharmaceutical research manager who took the topic of medical cannabis in a clearly negative sense. Like they had already honed their response from repeated inquiries.

For doctors, protecting their professional credibility "vs" being negatively viewed as not keeping up with potential medical advancements in pain management, is a problem.

Older Physicians and drug researchers seem to feel like their in the cross-hairs of a no win scenario and plan to extract themselves from the discussion thru their eventual retirement, at least while it's federally illegal.

In the US the change needs to come from the "new-blood" risk takers in states with approved medical use.

In my state, your likely to have your GP address your interest by sending you to a dispensary to choose from a list of doctors they keep on file if you hope to get an evaluation and possible prescription.

In Canada "Linking physicians from across the country with colleagues who possess advanced knowledge in the cannabis field in order to provide case-by-case support", is an excellent move.

I can see Canopy expanding this model internationally with success.
