It's an uphill battle at this point. Even law enforcement wants the spit test. The spit is not a court certified mechanism. It's a mechanism for further testing and/or Drug Recognition Expert real-time decision making. Also, they can go after the cocaine element they believe is a serious problem. A dual purpose device similar to hounds BAC/THC handheld.

In regards to the mother nature issue, I can see there being real problems along the lines of contamination. I'm thinking the police will likely walk the suspect to the vehicle and administer the roadside test from inside the confines of a controlled environment.

Agreed, it's not etched in stone yet, but I see no turning back by the Canadian government. They have spent too much time and money for launch (nearly 150 million committed). All systems are on go. The question/concern @ Camp Cannabix is when will Home Base get to a real world Yes/No handheld device...

P.S. I'm beginning to think the whole "Court Certified" device angle is just a cop out. Court Certified may not prevent monetizing a handheld unit. It would simply be a screening tool unless and until it's actually "certified." But I digress...please keep all Crystal Ball Theories alive and wishing well.
