this happened to a friend of mine some years back when the brokerage firm decided to not deal in OTC and they sold his stock at market value , they did give him , notice but he hadnt been his account for a while and he discovered what they had done.......what you can do is ask them to transfer the stock into paper form ie an old style share certificate through compushare , i think they will charge around 3%.......ask them to convert to paper certificate until you find a broker to accept them
