Typically when there is a true buyout rumor “on the street” the share price goes up. Maybe you are on the wrong street.

I agree with this. Typically right before a buyout stock price will be erratic and would do the inverse of what common sense dictates. Generally we assume leading into buyout rumor that the SP will appreciate... This is wrong. It actually drops hard followed by huge run up.

Musk should be buying up all of the US based critical mineral miners IMO. Afterall, he's the guy bringing EV's to market as the rest of the worlds auto makers follows suit.
