Unfortunately, if you know airlines the way I do, there will be a long and very painful way to mainstream adoption. Some business environments to include FAA are generally ultraconservative and very reluctant to approve anything which may affect safety of flight. Laser/radio links will be under such scrutinization due to HIRTA
( high intensity radio transmitters area) concerns for years of testing before anyone will ever adopt it. Unless the tech works and the airlines get the most out if the value chain, ABWN will sit dead in the water forever. Yet I am still long looking forward the next dead cat twitch
