i'm no legal expert, but I'm pretty sure that isn't how it works. You don't sue for $50 million and then hope you get $100 million. It's like everything else, you ask for the most you can possible hope and expect its going to be something below that.

here it is in black and white from a presentation excerpt:

We are also almost at the end of a four year arbitration against a former CRO
in which we are seeking damages in excess of $50 million.

However, he did NOT say $100 Mil or $400 Mil....ever!
