I must say, I'm surprised at how well price held up this week given the announcement the amount of authorized shares had been tripled.

Since the announcement is currently still just a PRE14C, it has not been sent to the shareholders yet. That will be the DEF14C. And since the notification of the tripling of the A/S has not yet been sent, most shareholders don't know about it yet. But those that read SEC filings know about it, and they probably contributed to the selling which sent the stock down to its recent lows this week.

Increasing the A/S, especially by billions of shares, is never a good thing.
