Nanosys Cad-free QD are what they are working on now. They have dropped Hyperion because OEMS do not want it. They finally got the message! If Nanosys has to go through long testing to prove their Cad Free to OEMs it could take a year for acceptance.

Another hypothetical re Exciton is maybe they were expecting Cad-free and never got it from Nanosys!

DSSC costed out QDOG and found that it cost more than QDEF partly because of the special Corning glass needed. There is a graph showing QDOG was the most expensive method. I thought everyone was trying to lower cost!

You could just as easily said that QDOG is a more expensive barrier film for quantum dots that otherwise would deteriorate quickly. According to the graph, it will always be more expensive. The real solution is a quantum dot that does not deteriorate and is made by an automated process to ensure uniformity, ready supply and lowest cost. That's the future, not some workaround for poor materials.

Wait.. I thought you said Nanoco was the leader? Didn't they have the "know how" as you put it?

Old Chinese proverb...
Not knowing is not the same as they "cannot explain."
