I can't say whether this is true or not for your friend, but in my experience a lot of doctors are slow to embrace new technologies.

Lyme Imhoff is an anesthesiologist and owns 39M shares. You could conclude she sees value in it. As you know, everyone has opinions and agendas.

Doctors wouldn’t care for it – insurance companies would love it… The clinical cost per patient on this is $10 per test, something Medicare and Medicaid would love to death.

I know of one gynecologist at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center that has been talking with patients about this for four years. Others have replied about the resistance being:

1. lack of repeat business. True
2. Slow to embrace new technology. True

Not sure what knd of money is behind pap smears for lobbying and push/pull marketing, but lets face it, its got to be heavy. This product will eat their lunch.
