#59876 RE: plugger #59867

Good morning plugger...and yes....we are in a mell of a hess..as we have sometimes said..whats it gonna be like in another 10...20...years....because the slow slid off the slippery slope is over...the world is now jumping right off the cliff!.....heres another example i got from a email yesterday from American Family Association..just some highlights...

America is in serious spiritual trouble, and Christians no longer have the luxury of staying out of the fray when it comes to public policy and moral issues.

Unless the followers of Christ recommit to being salt and light in our communities, our nation will be totally given over to godless secularism … and sooner rather than later.

But the sad fact is that far too many are not arming themselves with biblical weapons of battle. Many don't even seem to be reading their Bibles or hearing trustworthy preaching and teaching. Is it any wonder the secular culture is influencing Christians more than Christians are influencing the culture?

A recent survey from Barna Group found that 51% of churchgoers don't even know the term Great Commission! Of course, the Great Commission refers to the mandate that Jesus gave to His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:15.

Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation (Mark 16:15).

How can there be such widespread ignorance about our mission to reach the world for Christ? That’s certainly no way to prevent a secular takeover of this nation. Even more ominously, the Barna survey found that only 10% of churchgoing Millennials said that they have "heard of and remember the Great Commission." That's alarming! Only 1 in 10 young people age 22-37 know the central mission of the church.
