I don't believe that the statement you reference means that the case is actually closed just yet.

The last response I received from the Trustee about those checks was this ........

" We are obligated to make a diligent effort to locate new addresses for the claimants. If we are able to find new addresses then the checks are resent with a new “cashed by” date. IF not cashed within that time, stop payments are places and the funds are issued to the Court. I don’t expect this to happen until sometime at the end of the month. As for the trustee’s final report, it will probably filed sometime in June 2018. "

The Pacer update states the Trustee " has made a good faith effort to verify the correct mailing address for said creditor(s) and deliver the funds before presenting this notice. More than sufficient time has passed for these checks to be presented for payment; "

I believe the update indicates that the Trustee has now fulfilled their obligation to make a good faith effort to contact these creditors and sufficient time has passed for these checks to be cashed and they have now forwarded any remaining checks to the court . I believe the Trustee still has to file their Final Report to the Judge and we have to get the stamp of approval from the Judge for the case to be officially closed . That is my understanding anyway.
I believe the term " to effect closing of this estate " simply means that the Trustee has fulfilled their obligations so the case CAN be closed.
