No I raced back with "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, Don "The Snake" Prudomme, Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, and those guys.
My Uncle was Pretty big back then and was an incredible Mechanic who use to help all those guys and many others out set up there engines so I learned very early as me and him went every where together to race. He Passed away at 40 from a Brain Aneurysm and that was like losing my Dad and Best Friend at the same time and I was just 24. I retired as a National Record Holder at the time as it just wasn't the same, Especially Traveling the NHRA Circuit., Plus times were changing and Sponsors were harder to get as the car industry was taking a hit due to Emissions and and Gas issues. I was asked to Drive NASCAR but just lost interest and got into Restoring Early Yenko and Z/28 Camaros, Corvettes, and other Real Muscle Cars.
Scott may remember a Guy who was Big in Dragsters in the 60's, Rolfe "The General" Engleson, He lived next door to my Uncle and Toured with us. "General" didn't have money at the time so we Painted his "Rail" Brown with a Picture of a Toilet on it as a Joke and he raced that for a few months until a Sponsor changed it with some much needed cash :-)

Scott LaMar was, is a Pretty Good, Should be a Photo of him Racing below in Super Comp.
Did he race with Mike Ferderer? He Races Super Comp and Sportsman and is Very Successful. My Old long time Girlfriend Barbie Married Mike. Her Dad was President of Chevrolet when we Started going out and went on to become the Chairman of the Board of GM. He is gone now too. I still talk to Barbie, they live out in Seattle. She knows more about Cars than just anyone I know.
Anyway, Bringing back a lot of old Memories :-)
