No, to me all the offering proves is that no deal was completed in time. I don’t view the offering as being a dollar-for-dollar comparison with the size of the deal being negotiated. The other possibility is that the offering was at least in part intended to unload the short sharks. It is fairly obvious that a lot of shorts were covered with offering shares.
