gfp, most, if not all, of the companies you cite are of the buy and hold variety. What's scary to me is that you mentioned that a few of these stocks just dropped from the sky for some unknown or unanticipated reason. Anyway, I don't have billions of dollars under management at ombowstring Enterprises :) to consider these types of stocks. At my age, I'm not looking 20 or 30 years down the road as my time horizon. I don't see any other approach that I can take except to look for stocks with a shorter term catalyst, with shorter term momentum, to try to make some gains.
