He used a "cashtag" which is putting a dollar sign in front of a ticker symbol on Twitter.
It means that post will display whenever someone searches for that ticker on twitter - and the fraudster knew with the trial going on that hundreds of people would be scouring Twitter for updates.
Actually pretty smart if you want to create a sell-off to buy cheap shares.
