I certainly have no problem with selling the IP or even the disclosed terms of the deal. My problem is with the company they did it with (due to future nature of deal) and the secrecy. If you do a futuristic deal then the nature of the company and their ability to perform (financial) should be discussed. Also, there should be a performance clause with ability to reclaim IP if not reached.

If these items were addressed the deal would be fine with me

You will never know since it is in the hands of a PRIVATE company with no quarterly or annual reports.
