Lord, Alicia Keys!
I knew that girl from the VERY beginning. In fact, "Creeper" Smith and I
WERE the beginning. We recorded two tracks with Alicia singing two popular tunes, at the strong behest of her mother Terry,
with whom I was a single parent at PS 116 in Manhattan.
She had a different last name, at 9, and hadn't developed any writing skills yet.

Both Alicia and her mother stay in touch with my daughter and I have found her to be a rare combination of grace and talent over the last thirty years.
