Just last week IPIX’s letter to shareholders said, “as we await the unblinding in the Prurisol trial...” (not an exact quote). I doubt they would have said that if they knew there was a problem with the trial.

I know this isn’t the thing referenced in your post but it seems to be relevant to the overall theme...long wait equals something wrong! Lions and tigers and bears.
