#42076 RE: selinpinar #42075

They are cracking down on the JUUL product but other than that the Commissioner is saying nothing truly new. His message is consistent and persistent. The FDA will not allow the e-cigarette market to continue like the Wild Wild West without standards, regulations and the means to enforce compliance. It was clear a long time ago that the E-Cigarettes would get an eventual green light to continue to be sold, however the marketing of such products has to be regulated whether Big Tobacco likes it or not. The push for lower levels of nicotine very much continues . . it is pretty much a done deal that lower levels of nicotine will be mandated for combustible cigarettes. What we don't know is if any of the heat not burn e-cigarette products will be affected by the new nicotine standards.

The drop in the share price is due to the unexpected death of Dr. James schwager, 22nd century group’s Senior VP for Science and Regulatory Affairs (aka our point man in dealing with the FDA and the long-awaited resubmission.)
