Coward of Broward to Receive Procedural Pummeling in Own Precinct

What occurred in Parkland, Florida in February wasn’t merely a single tragedy, but a pile of misguided reactions as well, that warped the American ability to understand the horror.

Nikolas Cruz did kill 17 people, and that is a tragedy in and of itself, but the left’s immediate insistence that this is the fault of a firearm has done an incredible disservice to future victims of mental illness.

Then, to top it all off, there is the untold tragedy multiplier represented by Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel, who systemically failed the people of his county by allowing young criminals to go free in order to sandbag his arrest numbers. This artificially low number of criminals being reprimanded directly affected the ability of the children to run amok.

Furthermore, Israel’s deputies were found to have been wholly incompetent when arriving to confront the active shooter, instead opting to wait outside until they felt it was safe to enter.

Now, after all of this, Scott Israel will have to face the music from within his own precinct as well.

Despite calling his own leadership “amazing,” Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel will endure a motion of no confidence, which opened electronically Friday and will close on April 26, Jeff Bell, president of the Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputies Association told CNN.

“There is a complete failure at the sheriff’s office and he doesn’t recognize it,” Bell said.

In the union’s announcement about the vote, a statement noted the move comes after “many instances of suspected malfeasance… and the lack of leadership that has crushed morale throughout the agency.”

Israel hasn’t shied away from the controversy either, having made several bold statements to the press after the incident.

In the aftermath of the gun massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where 17 people were killed, the Broward County sheriff told CNN’s Jake Tapper he showed “amazing leadership.”

Israel told Tapper “we all make mistakes” in response to the numerous red flags he and his deputies missed about suspected killer Nikolas Cruz, who told his school therapist in 2014 that he dreamed of “killing people.”

Perhaps this is the fate that Scott Israel deserves after all; being bored to death by his department’s procedural rigamarole.

After all, it was his department’s incompetence that cost the lives of 16 school children and a coach on Valentine’s Day.
