The entire public perception has changed in a few short years. I think society (at least American) has realized that they scapegoated a plant that had a long history of beneficial medical usage while turning a blind eye, and making tons of money off of, far more harmful synthetic substances. I've never touched MJ recreationaly myself, but like many others I now have a handful of friends who've found real relief from chronic health issues through medical MJ. It changes your perspective.
