I think what you’re specifically asking is the type of REE at Bokan.

Molycorp and other REE companies which have failed had high levels of LREE (light rare earth elements) like Cerium which are so abundant and cheap they failed to make a profit from mining and processing it.

What you want to see in any current REE effort is a high level of HREE (heavy rare earth element) or CREE (critical rare earth element) which are rare and expensive. Fortunately the Bokan deposit is rich in HREE according to USGS and therefore should be a profitable venture, should they ever get approval and funding for it.

Another good deposit is the TMRC round top in TX.
