RE: Fox13: How to post a chart.

Hello Fox and welcome!

Here is how I do my charts. Pretty straight forward.

1.) Save the graph you want to post to a file. Most use a .gif or .png format; they result in smaller files.

2.) Upload the graph to http://imageshack.us/ First, click on the browse button, and click on the file that you want to upload (the one you just saved in step 1 above). Once you have picked the file, click on the Host It button. Once the file has been upload, it will come back with a page with a bunch of links to the file you just uploaded. Go to the last line, Direct link to image, and copy that address.

3.) Start a new post here on Ihub (either reply to someone, or just post a new one). Place the chart in your post by placing the address you just copied in between {chart} and {/chart}, expect for two things: change the {} to [], and also remove the http:// from your address.

So, for example, here is a graph of some data from AMG Data that tracks money flow in the market. First, I uploaded the file and got the link from the Direct link to image line:

http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/9374/amgdatayn6.png

I then cut out the http:// part of the address, and place it between the {chart} and {/chart} phrases, like so:

{chart}img165.imageshack.us/img165/9374/amgdatayn6.png{/chart}

except you have to change the {} to [] to make it work. Once you do that, you can click on preview to see if you got it right or not. Here is that chart:

As a side note, the first 8 words of a post end up being the subject for the message, so try not to post a graph on the first line of your post.

That's it! If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Good luck!
