Your assumption that the company cannot raise money through licensing and/or shares at a higher price in the future is probably incorrect. But that has nothing to do with the value of the science. A BP will pay what the science is worth. You are looking at it from a “we are desperate so we will take anything” viewpoint. That is not how it works.
