Rick, SM might be trapping short with that statement

Welcome back Rick, Steve Mnuchin might be creating big trap for shorts and also giving his buddies to accumulate. With any court judgment against Government, Mnuchin may act and show big achievement by Trump so that Republicans can retain congress.

Without any good news before election, Republicans are toast. If Congress goes to Democrats then for next two years, we will hear just one word-Impeach.

My guess, Mnuchin will play his card before election!

LOL Rick. You have NO factual idea to base any of your claims. You sound just like some of the other pumpers/hopefuls on this board. You provided NO link to the supposed Mnuchin interview. If Mnuchin wanted to solve the FnF mess, he could do it RIGHT NOW (it's a very simple solution). And what do elections have to do with FnF? The repubs control the WH and both houses - FIX IT NOW! What if the Repubs lose the house and senate? -- there would be no political will to find a resolution to this mess. So, apparently, your so-called whale balls have turned into cracked crystal balls.

In the meantime, I'm still watching and waiting (and hoping). I've also taken up Navy's suggestion to do more trading. I've lost some big $$ on this ticker and am trying to build up some more powder so that if and when we do get recapped and released I can get some of my losses back to the positive side.

(I'm still looking for that link to Mnuchin's comments) (as if his comments mean anything anyway).

In the meantime, good luck to you and everyone else; we all need a dose of Clark's "realism". LOL

Good post. I'm not 100% will you but we can agree to "follow the shorting". They always seem to have insight to what is going on behind the scenes. When the shorting stops, look out.

This sounds great but it's going on the premise that they will do what's best for the many and not do what's best for a select few in some shady back room deal. Munchin and Soros have already shown what kind of deals some can get from the government in these situations in their cant lose foreclosure scheme. Republicans have always wanted Fannie Mae to go away. In the past all they could do was make them a private company but now have the opportunity to get rid of them. Democrats would probably love to have them as a government owned agency. That doesn't leave many law makers wanting to go back to where they were before the crisis. jmho

totally agree. I decided 1 year ago to hold Fannie until the matter is resolved or I badly need the money.

The idea of establish investor confidence is thought provoking. Why with off setting risk and retaining capital would they need investors at all? Seems to date there has been little the government has done to be forth coming in the area of investors. With investing in a company on cash flow and profit I find it interesting that one would assume it take 10-15 yrs. Maybe we should price in what they are worth today as they have been a money machine for the government for ten years. Why would we price them any different then any other company and especially while under government supervision. Wether you believe in explicit or implied backing, with our economy and monetary system you had too know the government would step in. After all those MBS are the collateral on those loans the government makes too us and the world.

Reasonable, but I think your timeline is too long. We will get to the long term price mentioned far sooner; albeit forward split adjusted... It's been a very long time since they last did a forward split. We are overdue for one....
