It's actually a direct revenue stream for advfn and indirectly for Ihub. It is not an intentional device to piss off non subscribers to subscribe.
You offer something of value to gain subs, a streamer is of value to a certain population of readers.

Ihub is one of the few stock sites that honestly listens to members when it experiments or has to implement something handed down from Clem the King.

Amazing that admin would put something on the screen to annoy users to force them to become premium users.

"Admin" didn't do anything of the kind. They deal with message board administrative and TOS related matters.
