Same answer. What was the price of Bitcoin when you traded it for another coin? I have some Iota and Neo I bought last year. Could only use coin (Eth) to purchase them. I reported a gain based on the Eth I bought to trade for them - using price of Eth when I bought it v price of Eth when traded for iota and Neo. Seemed pretty straight forward. Still holding my iota and Neo.
And what is the standard USD equivalent according to which website on that particular day? They are all different for a particular day/time. As I understand, we can claim capital losses on the like-kind exchanges too. It just seems too much trouble to even report it despite having losses since I started exchanging coins in late December.
