Maybe it’s a way to get around companies like bmw only putting their own aftermarket stuff in their vehicles. This was talked about earlier with bmw. This way it is their app and hardware so it can be installed at their plants. That is my guess that it is something like that.

Don't mean to be a downer, but private label isn't necessarily a huge deal. It's common in a lot of businesses. I've done it myself as an app building company. I 'licensed' a web-app platform, which would be labeled as my company, built apps for clients, and I paid the developer a 'royalty' per app for using their platform and hosting the apps. Even some clothing companies do something similar to this where they can buy designs and put their label on it.

With that being said, it could be a very good incentive for dealerships or large companies to label this as their own. It helps their future marketing efforts to keep their name in front of their current customers. Or, just licensing the platform for a small business to sell this is still a huge opportunity.
