Scottrade has other benefits, at least I consider them benefits. They have branch offices all over the place so if you have a problem or an issue to resolve you can go into an actual office and speak to someone in management. You can also make deposits at the office. There are brokers you can talk to. I prefer this over the brokers that are strictly internet businesses.

In other words you are on your own with the internet based brokers, yes, you can make trades exactly the same way as you can with Scott and it will be a little cheaper, but for me I like the more personal aspect of Scott's business. With the internet brokers you open your account and you are on your own. For many people this presents no problem but I like to have the option of going right into an office near me and sitting across from someone at a desk if an issue arises with my account. Or for that matter, even if I just want to ask a simple question, I much prefer the face to face side of their business.

I'm not alone in that aspect. I know plenty of people that simply must have that. After all, we keep a lot of money in those accouts, I want to be able to speak to a real live person if something happens that warrants it.

Besides that they are reliable. Their platform is easy to use. Their executions are as good as any other broker I've used. I guess to sum it up they have a lot to offer and they are the broker that I most often recommend to anyone that is looking.
