Actually, Howard Stern is one of the most popular talk radio shows in the country. (In the states where he isn't banned of course) Doesn't say much for the general population. Having said that, I believe investors make up a small minority of the population, and Howard Stern's plug may do more to drive Ancestry revenues than promote the share price. For a long term investor, you would rather have exposure for the product than the stock. As a short term or swing trader, you prefer that investors get excited, and the sales are secondary, since you expect to be out in a short period of time anyway.
