Selling several shares of stock to raise capital is possible. Often times unsold shs are provided in an acquisition rather than cash bc the trade value is the Ask price rather than the Bid. That makes it a much more appealing transaction than selling at Bid to fund. But I suppose your theory is possible. Dilution to fund is not my guess. Any other thoughts?
