Regarding your comment on old insulation, during my current remodel I opened up walls to add windows. The yellow 50s build insulation had matted and deflated, leaving little insulation value.
The "Pink" insulation I use holds up pretty well over time and when used with sheathing-to-stud inside corner sealing it works for me.
I haven't seen spray insulation used here in Southern California.
