I have police in my family, always have. Cops will tell you the truth if asked, and that is that law enforce is the event resource. Police (law enforcement) are not likely to protect you, that is our/your (the people) job.
Second Amendment:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Those who entrust their to others are not protected and our in most cases waiting victims.
