What has your experience with penny stock special dividends been?

For example, HOLL is offering a .45 divy and the price is .709. Do stocks in the OTC/Pink sheets automatically open .45 lower on the the ex-divy date or is that uncommon(unlike big board special Dividends that are adjusted by the exchange? Do they usually trend upward leading into the ex-divy date?
