#30826 RE: Long term #30825

Since Mayer and Reyna each has 3 cases assigned to them and assuming that they don't have too many cases on their hands now, I think it would be less likely that they will be assigned more cases for the remainder of this week.

Although I believe that judge has discretion/duty to raise sua sponte on any issues in the name of judicial efficiency, time and resource, but I don't anticipate any issues that would warrant a sua sponte at the 9 March hearing.

I think the 9 March hearing is more about the process of patent law and the PTAB's administrative authority v. the court judicial authority/power, and it is not about the technical validity/invalidity of the patent itself.

Hmmm. Blows my theory re: Dyk not being assigned again this week. :(
Glad to see Taranto open but hope it's not because HE's on vacation!

There will be 3 panels for tomorrow hearings, and all hearings occur at 10AM time slot, which mean there will be 9 different judges for tomorrow.

Considering 9 judges are needed for tomorrow hearing, the more likely candidates would be for those with (0) or (1) panel assigned, and they are

Moore(1)
Taranto(0)
Dukes(1)
O'Malley(1)
Breyer(1)
Clevenger(1)
Schall(1)
Player (0)

There are 8 judges with (0) or (1) assigned panel, but 9 judges are needed for the three panels on 9 March. One more judges are needed, and which one additional judges will be selected?

With Taranto and Player had not been assigned any cases this week, and assuming they are not currently having too many cases on their hands, then most likely Taranto and Player will be on a panel(s) for tomorrow hearing(s).

Will Taranto and Player be on panel M (World v. Bungie?)
