well FedEX UPS USPS and DHL are all trialing FCV with Workhorse being the main provider
Currently they see EV as being a definite need and will be deploying it is then just the economics of availability of vehicles and costs of large battery packs v FC.
FC takes zero cargo room Battery takes room.
Currently use gas engine to provide range extender (recharges as they drive along!) not nice for drivers in cab so FC will take over.
it is a business proposition for companies with a depot that need > 150 mile range and the more time they want on the road the better it is for hydrogen
a 400 mile run time and refuel in minutes so second driver can take same vehicle out for their run will be very attractive, only FCEV can deliver that
the hydrogen is all stored at the depot (like PLUG has with USPS in Maryland) no need for public refueling stations - that's why Plugs Hydrogen city vision form 2015 is still in place!
PLUG has certainly proved that thesis!!! Negative ROI and wiped out shareholders with a 99% loss over 20 years, ouch, how do they keep the scam going?
And they are already 20 years behind the new generation of fuel cells Mantra Energy has already field demonstrated in an e-vehicle that uses simple liquid formic acid made from waste CO2
