They started this scheme long before the so-called management mistakes. They didn’t need the mistakes, it simply made it easier for them at some point. They manipulated regardless of substance, at a time when the company had plenty of cash, etc. As but just two glaring examples, they attacked the stock with a 40% flash crash within minutes of stellar GOG data and also right after the Amgen deal when the company was sitting on $160 million. This short scheme was very sophisticated and dedicated, with multiple parties working together. If a scheme like this is persistent enough and they just keep at it they can ultimately overwhelm virtually any clinical biotech. The only thing that could possibly stop them is extremely strong buying demand. But the demand gets worn down by the relentless suppression. Then people give up. Which is where we are now.
