Carbon fiber is resilient also. The pic below is after a 35mph crash test. It appears the material absorbed the energy from the impact very well and bounced back to its approximate original position afterwards.
In this video we see the actual crash test. Amazing, there are no crumple zones like would happen in a steel vehicle, and the passenger compartment wasn't compromised whatsoever.
