Agree with YO, I have a friend with same scenario used Scottrade and when he went to there office and checked on it last week in person. They told him GOIG went Bankrupt in 2011 and with no activity in his account for 5 years whatever monies that was left was sent to the State.
He did have some GoCom = 0 value.
They Gave him paperwork to file for loses on his taxes that's how his story ended.
