Sangamo would also receive tiered royalties on sales of potential future products resulting from the collaboration.

I subsequently saw specific detail that they will be "entitled to escalating, tiered royalty payments with a percentage in the single digits..."

That implies to me that royalties will be capped in the single-digits (given no reference at all to double-digits) and presumably start in the mid single-digits. While it's a nice up-front payment and great partner for sure, that royalty rate seems pretty disappointing to me. Don't understand how they couldn't negotiate for double-digit royalties.
