Laugh what you will, but this is normal business recognition of employees. Yes, it’s just a certificate, but this is also how many companies award its employees for significant contributions. The certificate is usually attached to a small monetary award for performance. Many of the companies that I’ve worked use this same approach. I’ve award such certificates of contribution to a dozen or so project team members throughout my current project.

My son too got a certificate for his participation in a scout activity.
