Hi Hoghead, Fuel Cells are more economical than other methods because they use the exhaust and some additional natural gas to produce additional Electricity. The Fuel Cell separates and condenses the CO2 from the exhaust making it easier to pipe underground or ship.

I'm no expert on fuel cells but I do know that an electrical current through water (H2O) will separate it into hydrogen and oxygen. I thought that Fuel Cells basically reversed the process by combining hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity.

I think that the Fuel cells made by Fuel Cell Energy can separate hydrogen from the natural gas, and then combine that with whatever oxygen is left in the exhaust flow producing electricity, and then producing hydrogen because not all of the hydrogen was used to make electricity, and then separating the CO2 and condensing it.

That's from what I understand from reading the description of operation.
