#129841 RE: aquaculture #129840

I calculated yesterday, if they can generate 30% gross margin on net weight gain for Pearl Grouper (which isn't that impressive) then they can make more money on Pearl Grouper than a best case scenario for freshwater prawns. Or close to $450,000 per standard APM unit.

They could in theory heat the Pearl Grouper tanks to 32 degrees C at the MF and then the rest of the environment and the other tanks would automatically be a couple degrees lower, perfect for the freshwater prawns. Although I'm still not sure what the plan is. The plan 6 months ago was to use all 16 APM units at AF1 for Pearl Grouper. That may have changed. They may use half of the tanks at AF4 for Pearl Grouper now. On top of the 16 at AF1? But it's pretty obvious they will turn up the heat...

I also looked up what CA is charging TRW for the heating system (boiler) and it was a bit over $1M RMB. But that may not include the infrastructure work.

Perhaps I will send Tony an email one of these days because I have a few questions. But I'm kind of reluctant to bother them.
