I don't think it's a trap for few reasons (and correct me if I'm wrong):

1. Already proven that it won't be liquidated in "black swan" scenario because it's an ETF and not ETN.

2. Hard to imagine 2 "black swans" back to back. Although anything is possible I guess.... But hard to imagine LOL.

3. Mathematically it's designed to gain as volatility drops (and it will). Question is how much of a decay will it endure (limit profits)... I'm not that good in this particular topic.

I bought some yesterday around 11.40. Really glad to still see it alive because it's such a great money maker.

Hi deadjim

SVXY won't go up as much as you might think till it comes out of backwardation. At that point it will do its usual climb.

Its an opportunity unless there is another volatility spike.
SVXY I would think could even handle the market going down slowly as long as volatility does not spike.
