Ok, I guess encryption doesn’t necessarily have to go hand/hand with blockchain, but it’s not as effective without it. In fact, the whole basis for blockchain is that the decentralized account records’ chain is kept confidential and the integrity of the message is maintained. Plain text communications just makes a better target for hackers.
