That’s why Kim should’ve been making a lot more silk so it can be tested in all the ways you are suggesting. If the Kevlar and DS (or something they create that is better than DS) could be woven to make a protective layer that might work in conjunction with layers of only Kevlar, but we won’t know anything until Kim makes enough of it so it can be tested. And until they get the DS back to targeted properties, we really won’t know what it is truly capable of. It may turn out that the DS can help support the Kevlar to help keep it from breaking and the Kevlar could help keep the DS from stretching, but I think it will still require layers and layers of material. It really needs to be tested ASAP because this will be a long process to go from concept to final application if it is even proven feasible at all. Hurry up and wait.
