Because it wouldn't do any good for him to publicly communicate contingencies or alternative plans, etc., as it would highlight that funding may not come from a deal if they can't lock in one. My guess is he's working on a deal involving upfront cash, so the best communication was to say they have enough cash until November 2018 and leave it at that.
